Glen Tonnessen

MD, MMM, FACC, FSCAI, DABVLM

Dr. Glen Tonnessen is a cardiologist and Managing Director of The Vein Institute. He completed his medical residency in internal medicine at St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey. He completed his fellowship training in cardiovascular medicine at Seton Hall University. Dr. Tonnessen is board certified in cardiovascular disease and vascular medicine. His experience spanning over three decades as a cardiologist and over 12 years as a phlebologist has given him unparalleled exposure and understanding of venous conditions and their treatment.

Dr. Tonnessen is a fellow in the American College of Cardiology (FACC), Fellow of the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Intervention (FSCAI), Diplomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine (ABVLM) and the founder of The Vein Institute of Hunterdon. He has received a Masters of Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University. He enjoys cooking, skiing, reading and gardening as well as all things related to wine!
